Here at Let's Talk Dogs (LTD), you'll hear us refer to you and your dog most often as a "Team". That's because like any relationship you maintain, there should be consistent practice and understanding as you work towards personal growth.
More often than not, dog owners find it challenging to learn how, when, and where boundaries belong in their canine relationships. Boundary setting in any relationship is necessary, especially when you are the one leading the pack. We believe that the core of effective communication is based around boundaries, timing, anticipation, and intuition.
Since every dog is different, it is important to have a variety of training approaches at the ready because you never know when your sweet, uncontrollable, furry variable might throw you a curve ball. They are after all, animals. In our experience, slow and steady always wins the race. We feel it is important to find what motivates your dog, and then apply that incentive to your training advantage.
Every dogs boundary setting will look different based on breed, personality, etc. So, when Let's Talk Dogs notices something missing, boundaries are introduced based on the structure of The Humane Hierarchy.
In a world full of opinions on what dog training should look like, Let's Talk Dogs operates on the premise that your training should be a short list of things.
We look forward to helping you succeed in this canine relationship and all the ones to come!

Once you experience effective communication with your canine companion, you’ll never be able to go back. So, what are you waiting for? LET’S TALK DOGS!
I am an advocate for dog hair as an accessory, and long car rides with a furry friend.
My dog training adventure first started after college, where I found myself desperately looking for help wrangling my own crazy puppy and understanding the big, bad "why?!" behind his behavior. After just a few lessons, I couldn't believe there was an entire aspect of my relationship with him that I had previously been blind to. Since my journey began in similar shoes, I can relate to your perspective as a client in a unique way. Our time together will not solely be about getting to your end result, but finding fluid success for your pack and enjoying the "work" along the way.
I have experience in numerous styles of dog training with my favorite arena holding strong within beginning basics. Helping lay the foundation for your relationship feels like handing a blank canvas to a great painter. (Okay, if you haven't figured out I'm a sucker for a good pun by now then you should probably take another spin through this website). Nothing thrills me more than being able to watch a Team's relationship flourish while sitting front row to your “lightbulb moments”.
My mission is to provide canine education for real world situations, by helping your Team cultivate a relationship based on effective interactions and timely understanding. It is through this kind of relationship building that we as handlers begin to see the world and all other relationships through an incredibly special lens. By taking on dog training in real world situations, I’ll help set your Team up for success no matter the scenario, for many tail wagging years to come.
Oso (right)
Is a Heinz-57 Mutt rescued from Tijuana, Mexico. His main focus in training is getting comfortable around other dogs in all different kinds of situations, but from a distance. Shrinking his threshold for high intensity stimuli is a long road but worth every success we get.
Ryatt (left)
Is a Blue Heeler who was rescued out of Bozeman, MT. His primary focus in training is food and impulse control. It can be a tall order managing impulses for a breed that is specifically meant to be impulsive but helping make the right decisions easy is what will continue to propel our relationship forward.
